A Traditional Paddington Terrace

Celebrating the beauty of a traditional terrace house in the heart of Paddington, we were commissioned for this project due to our experience and expert attention to detail in period style homes. The Gardner Construction team have a deep affection for this style of property and applied extra time to the project to ensure every detail was exemplary on all of the finishes. Restoring the run-down and tired Paddington terrace to its former glory, our skilled craftsmen worked tirelessly to breathe new life into the original features of the property, down to the custom gold leaf of the building’s name across the front door. Within the relatively small block width typical of a terrace structure, space is key, and with our knowledge and specialist understanding we installed custom built joinery into the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and storage cupboards to create ample storage for our clients. Creating extensions towards the rear and towards both boundaries behind the building, we encountered a number of hurdles. While the extension was being completed on the lower ground floors, we had to support the existing upper floor, a scenario which required a great deal of skill and pre-planning to deliver the intended result, and it was undoubtedly worth it. One of our favourite projects to date, the outcome is suitably spectacular demonstrated by this light-filled, spacious and beautifully presented home that pays wonderful homage to its traditional era.
